Highlights from the symposium, International Conference
on Effects of Intellectual Property Protections on the Conduct of Scientific
Research, March 19, 2007 (Tokyo)
On Monday, March 19, SIPPI and the Institute for Future Technology (IFTECH)
hosted a public symposium on intellectual property protections and the
conduct of research in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and
Germany. The event was held at the International House of Japan.
Speakers addressed several findings from a 2006 international survey
of scientists' experiences with intellectual property protections, conducted
in 2006 by the AAAS-SIPPI Project with support from the Sasakawa Peace
Foundation.
