This journal article examines intellectual property approaches that can assist low-income countries and members of disadvantaged groups in accessing health and agricultural innovations. It discusses how intellectual property (IP) managers from the public sector can better facilitate such access. The authors also encourage IP managers to understand the basis for using humanitarian licensing strategies and the benefits that both licensors and licensees can attain from those strategies.
