Public Comment Period on USPTO Draft Strategic Plan Now Open

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has released a Draft Strategic Plan for 2007-2012. Public comments may be submitted electronically or in writing until October 6, 2006.
According to the USPTO, the Draft Strategic Plan "identifies quality and timeliness of the patent and trademark review processes as primary goals for the plan that will guide the agency from 2007 through 2012." A public forum will be held on September 26, 2006 at the USPTO's headquarters (see the Federal Register notice) to discuss the Draft Strategic Plan.
