Focus questions for the meeting:
- What is the "public interest" with regard to copyright protection for S&T information?
- How do copyright law, contract law, and technology intersect to assist or restrict access to and dissemination of S&T information?
- What access models are most likely to serve the public interest in scientific publishing?
- What factors facilitate or impede authors and publishers' participation in such initiatives?
- What role should AAAS play in pursuing these issues?
